Greece is hosting the European School Chess Championship 2012 at the five-star Athos Palace - part of the G Hotels Group chain - in Kallithea, Halkidiki from June 12-21. The G Hotels Group is a leading hotel chain in Greece and includes five resorts. The games will be played according to the regular Swiss format with nine rounds. The rate of play will be 90 minutes for the first 40 moves with a 30 second increment and additional 30 minutes for remaining moves. Players cannot draw their games before 40 moves.
